Day 3

Welsh Highland Railway and Portmeirion. Morning visit to Portmeirion. Designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975, Portmeirion recreates an Italian village, with a truly Mediterranean feel. There are many unusual and romantically styled buildings and the village was the backdrop for the 1960s TV series 'The Prisoner'. There is a shop selling the whole range of Portmeirion ware. In the afternoon we enjoy a ride on the Welsh Highland Railway, through beautiful scenery back to Caernarfon.
